From ‘Jesus Walks’ to ‘I Am a God’, Kanye West has never been afraid of declaring his omnipotent-like confidence and is known in the music industry for his absurdly large ego.
But while the public have been pretty limited to any new music (his latest release was last year), every Sunday, his closest family and friends can witness something magical.
Never been one to hide away his faith, Kanye has started to rejoice in his own way, by hosting his very own Sunday Service.
Kim Kardashian West, who has been married to the musician for five years, recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and explained how Sunday Service is more of a “healing experience” than a religious one.
“There’s no praying, there’s no sermon, no word. Just music, and just a feeling – and it’s Christian.”
Although the service is kept pretty under wraps, what can be seen by Instagram footage or YouTube videos are it involves a large choir and band all dressed in white, and the service sometimes takes place in the outdoors with the beautiful hills of California as its backdrop, or zen colour-changing lights inside an open space room.
A young North West, the couple’s eldest child, has also been seen dancing around to the spiritual music.
But it’s not just songs of praise that call out for the crowd, the choir have also been filmed performing some of Kanye’s greatest hits; including Power, Fade, Lift Off and Father Stretch My Hands.
He even brought Church to the very Instagramable Coachella Festival in April, with an exclusive set from Sunday Service – and some very expensive merchandise as well.
And if Kanye were to drop a new album full of Sunday Service-style songs, well there would be no complaints here.
